*MCF MEDIA STATEMENT- 1st EXCO Meeting & Appointments*

The *Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF)* newly-elected EXCO held its first meeting on Wednesday, 28th December 2016 in Sani Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Prior to the start of the meeting Abdullah Al Amiri (Chairman of the Board for Fujairah Chess & Culture Club, UAE ) paid a courtesy call to the MCF President Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin & the MCF EXCO. Abdullah presented a plaque on behalf of Fujairah Chess Club together an invitation to MCF to visit Fujairah,UAE and conduct a friendly competition.

The MCF EXCO made the following appointments:-

Lim Tse Pin (Head).
Sophian A.Yusuf (Deputy).

*DISCIPLINE:*
Muammar Julkarnain(Head).
Mohd. Firdaus Ismail (Deputy).

*TECHNICAL:*
Nik Ahmad Farrouqi Nik Abdul Aziz (Head ).
Michael Yeap Joo Hock (Deputy ).

*WOMEN:*
Zuraihah Wazir (Head).

The *MCF Secretariat* was also formed to be headed by Nik Hishamuddin Nik Mustapha as *Executive Secretary* which will be based in Kuala Lumpur.

Datuk Zahidi, the newly-elected MCF President appreciates the trust placed in him and taking cognisance of the aspirations of the chess community in Malaysia, urged all elected and appointed to work together as a cohesive team.

Datuk Zahidi and his deputy YM Tengku Ahmad Badlishah are in unison in humbly inviting the chess community at large to work together with MCF for the betterment of chess in Malaysia.
