In an arguably the strongest one day rapid tournament seeing 4GM, 1 IM and 6 FMs taking part, 17 seeded Vietnamese FM Dang Hoang Son emerged champion.

Despite it being the only "rest day" for the Open, about half were titled players taking part in the 6 round rapid.

FM Dang Hoang Son finished clear first with 5.5 out of 6 points.
