Alekhine Nouri won the event with a score of 8/9 points in a field that saw a whopping 187 players taking part in the BORNEO INTERNATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP (JUNIOR) 2018 which was held on the 4-5 August 2018. Alekhine takes home the cash prize of USD 300.
In second place with USD200 as prize is Abdul Rahman Afzan Hamizan with 7.5 points. Third place (USD150) also with the same points but losing out on tie-break is Abdul Seit Mohd Nurrusydi Izzat.
Various other prizes were given to the other age categories.
