Just a reminder that this weekend that there is a tournament in Perak.
It’s the 3rd year running for the Perak Grand Prix sponsored by Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad. Officially called Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng Perak Grand Prix (GP) Chess Championship 2012, the first leg kicks off at SMK Clifford Kuala Kangsar on the 12th February. Since Kuala Kangsar is nearer to Penang than to KL, I would expect more players from the island to take part than from KL.
Also note according to the entry from TODAY is the last day to make payments!

GP points will be given in the Open section for the top ten on a sliding scale (i.e. Champion = 10 pts, Second = 9 pts, Third = 8 pts up to Tenth position = 1pt). The Finals will carry the same points. For a player to qualify for the GP Prize, he must play a minimum of at least 3 legs.

The GP prize will be RM 800, 500 , 400, 300, 200 & 3 x 100 and medals.
