In addition to an additional RM 3,000 in special prizes and 12 medals for the top schools and IPT in Malaysia, the top 20 finishers in this 9-round Open Section with a time limit of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds from move 1 ..in addition there is a total of  cash reward of RM 13,750 (the champion will receive RM 4,000).

For WIM/WGM/IM/GM and prior Selangor Open Champions who apply in the Open section, admission is free.

The Challenger Section has the same number of rounds and time control and offers a cash reward of RM 3,900 to the top 10 finishers, a cash prize of RM 1,000 to the top 9 finishers in the FIDE Rating Ceiling categories and the top 3 ladies, as well as 12 medals for Malaysia's top primary schools.

Participants with a FIDE Standard Elo below 1800 (May 2023 release) or no FIDE ranking are eligible to play in this Challenger section.

DAT Chess Centre has been chosen by CAS to serve as this tournament's event manager. The registration and payment procedures will be handled by DAT Chess Centre. All deposits must be made to the Maybank account number 5145-9822-0396 of the DAT Chess Centre.

Players who apply and pay by May 1st, 2023 (Monday), for both Individual and School-going Children (4 and above from the same school) in the OPEN section, as well as School-going Children (4 and above from the same school) in the CHALLENGER section, will receive a rebate. According to the registration deadline, OKU participants who participate in the OPEN Section are eligible to the lowest bracket rate for the individual entrance fee for that category.
