My roommate at Penang Open 2025 messaged me the above and since I was

PS: The site took more of my time than anticipated. Consequently, it also delayed my review of Pocket Fritz 2. Anyway now that I've got this project out of the way, I can now continue playing with Pocket Fritz2.
Just got my copy of Pocket Fritz 2 on my iPAQ PDA. This is something I wanted since last year!
Maybe I'll do a review of the program later.
Here are some screenshot of the program in the meantime:-
Let me play with this program for a few days before I write something about it.
"This can hardly be called a world championship, as the rules of sports were not observed," he said. "There was no [proper] selection. Of course, each of the eight candidates deserves respect, but others had no chance to have their say."Original source:- RIA Novosti - Sports - Selection process for world chess championships invalid - Karpov
The list was sorted based on the keyword Chess and sorted based on authority. I'm taking this with a pinch of salt but it's nice to think that my blog is top 10 in something :)
The Russian grandmaster Anatoly Karpov Monday played human chess with Diego Maradona as part of the TV show the Argentine soccer star hosts in Buenos Aires. The match ended in a draw, but Karpov played with his eyes covered by a black strip.Read more here..
Just got a PDA with WiFi support.
I addition I got a keyboard to go with the PDA so that I can key in articles and results faster.
This means I can now post articles from any WIFI 'hotspots'. I can't wait to try this out at coming local tournaments. Let's see how this works in practice.
You should see chess news and my blog articles being published faster than before (I hope :) )
After a few days rest, it was the Zonal 3.3. My favourite player, GM Mark Paragua took part but unlike Wang Hao he didn't win this event outright. He got 7/9 sharing the same points with GM Utut Adianto from Indonesia. Utut won on tie break but it wasn't very important as both have qualified to represent this region in the World Championship cycle. This is Mark's 2nd attempt and I wish him luck. Also notable is WGM Anya Corke decision to take part in the Men's Zonal instead of the Women's Zonal. She started badly with 3 losses in a row. She ended with a more or less respectable 3.5 points. All her 3 wins were against Malaysians, notably - Francis Tan, FM Anas Nazreen and World Police Champion Ismail Ahmad.
The Women Zonal was completely dominated by the Viets who took the top 5 places. Unfortunately there was only one qualifying place only in this section.
Malaysian's were totally outclassed in the zonals except for a respectable performance by FM Lim Yee Weng who managed to draw games against some strong GMs as well as beat GM Bazar of Mongolia. However for his efforts, it was not enough for another IM norm.
My website has never seen so many hits. Eg: I usually get 1 Gigabyte of traffic per month but the last 2 months I was getting 5 Gigabytes per month!! Anyway things are winding down and I can rest again. I have to thank my partners da5thknight as well as remisaman I know must have been dying to be in Kuala Lumpur to witness the tournament first hand but he had to watch the entire event via the internet in Kedah.
Also with the strong interest shown by readers in GilaChess, perhaps there will be an Anya Corke fan website. We'll see ....
There were lots of things I wanted to do but didn't. Among them were:-
FM Mok Tze Meng caused the upset of Round 3 when he beat GM Bazar (ELO 2445) on the black side in a tense ending. Picture above showing FM Mok being congratulated by fellow Malaysians after his brilliant win. He now has 2 points out of 3 points.
From the previous blog article, WGM Anya lost the ending (in picture) and GM Mark Paragua won again. GM Mark Paragua will now meet GM Utut Adianto tomorrow noon at 4pm.
Chow Kit is a long road where you can find all sorts of shops that sells a variety of cheap goods.
It's also known as the downtown area of KL so it's the most unlikely place to find gladiators of the mind doing battle.
This place is well known for ease of getting whatever things you may want such as clothes, bags, and even cheap imitation goods.
A kaleidoscope of colours and fragrances dominates the Chow Kit "wet market" which is one of the largest wet markets in Kuala Lumpur.
At the hotel Stanford, there are 44 players vying for the 2 coveted places to represent this zone for the FIDE world championship 2005.
One of the hot favourites is GM Mark Paragua of the Philipines (picture from 3rd round vs GM Edhi Handoko. The other strong contenders are super GM Dao Thien Hai, GM Anthonio Rogelio, GM Utut Adianto and many more GMs whom have equal opportunity to win.
One of the surprise of the tournament is WGM Anya Corke who did not play in the Women Zonal section. She instead opt to play in the
