Seniors Classical: Hudallah Dispatches IM Chan for Full-Point Lead as Helen Milligan Steps Up

After a full day of rest, the seniors came out swinging. Every single game was decisive - there were no draws!

Round 6 of the Malaysian Seniors Classical Championship has firmly established Indonesia's Hudallah (ELO 2051) as the man to beat, as the chasing pack of international veterans are one full point behind.

Board 1: Hudallah Overcomes Singapore IM Chan Peng Kong



Playing the black pieces against Singapore's venerable International Master Chan Peng Kong (2082), Hudallah took managed to emerge victorious.

IM Prasad Stuns Top Seed IM Guy West; Milligan & Ahmad Ismail Win



Board 2 witnessed a clash of continental titans, where Indian veteran IM Devaki V. Prasad (2153) defeated former Australian Champion (ELO 1996) and top seed IM Guy West (2278) with Black. Prasad did offer Guy West a draw but was declined. 11 moves later, Guy West, unfortunately, had to resign.

Meanwhile, New Zealand's 11-time Olympiad icon CM Helen Milligan (ELO 1911) scored a convincing victory over Australia's Jean Watson, and Malaysian stalwart FM Ahmad Ismail (ELO 1830) defeated Brunei's Hashim Hasnul.

Round 7 Board 1: Can Helen Milligan Stop Hudallah?

In Saturday's seventh round, Indonesia's runaway leader Hudallah Mn (5.0) takes the white pieces against New Zealand's CM Helen Milligan (4.0) and it will be the game to watch (live)!
