Roy Marpaung wins Penang Heritage City International Chess Challengers 2023

Roy Marpaung led the tournament most of the way but in the final round, Malaysian Gan Yeun Bin managed to tie up the score at 7.5 out of 9. However, Roy managed to win on superior tie-break.
Roy Marpaung is no stranger to winning the Challengers section in Malaysia haven't been champion of the Johor Challengers in 2018.
