Catur.org is "new" if anyone noticed because I moved my entire website from GoDaddy to Digital Ocean because GoDaddy double charged me and didn't respond to my email to reverse the charge.
It's a painful process moving because of the effort of moving things around. Also things like missing thumbnails above..
I already solved this problem over a year ago writing my own custom script to generate the thumbnails. Sadly because of the move I have lost those codes.
That again may take time.. :(
Received the shocking news that Ahmad Fadzil Nayan passed away last night after sufferering from heart troubles. This is sad news indeed as he was only 27 years old.
He was a fellow Perakian and I met him over the board over 10 years ago playing at Wilayah Kompleks during one of the weekend rapid tourney.
May he rest in peace.
The last time I saw him was when he played against eventual Malaysian Open 2014 champion Zhang Zhong on board one, round 1 last year. He held the GM to a draw.

I was "sucked in" to a FaceBook group selling chess software. I wasn't interested but didn't leave the group because I was curious.
For example the latest and at this monent, most powerful engine in the world, Komodo 8 is available there. The cost (after conversion) only RM 21.40.
The official website selling it is USD 59.96 which is about RM 215. So you can get it for only a tenth of the official site price. Amazing !
Of course, it's pirated and I do not want to highlight that page here but most local chess Facebook users here already know it as they were unwillingly added to it too. So I won't highlight the actual address.
It contains literally almost every major chess software you can think of. From the proof of receipts and postal receipts on the FB page it looks like the owner is doing brisk sales. :)
IM Mok Tze Meng became this year's first rapid winner by taking first place in the 2015 Kastam Open on new year's day at the Kastam headquarters, Kelana Jaya.Mok won his first 6 games before conceding a draw in the final round to Kamaluddin Yusof when he was assured first place going into the final round.

Blogger Hairul Adbul Hamid who beat Kamaluddin Yusof in the 2nd round took 6th to 10th place along with Abdul Shukor A Rajah, Yee Jian Yang, Khar Boon Yaw and Mohd Amin Mohd Noor.
