Is made up of two words. "Gila" and "Chess".Gila in Bahasa Melayu literally means "mad" or "crazy". So the term Gilachess roughly translates to "mad about chess". This term is used to refer to people who are passionate (or 'crazy') about chess. It is also the name of the website Gilachess.com which is one of the many chess websites that features news and chess events in and around Malaysia.
Please take note that this the initial definition. The Wiki may have updated definition and is thus clearer to know "What is GilaChess".
